In dermatology, apart from applying different medicaments, different treatments for physiotherapy are used locally or systematically. These include cryotherapy, electrotherapy, kinesitherapy, ionizing radiation, phototherapy. If you are interested in getting a physiotherapy, make sure to book an appointment nowand we will be happy to assist you and help you solve the problem that you are experiencing. Some of the physiotherapy methods are used alone and others in combination with medication.
Kinesitherapy includes massage with special devices or manual, aiming at accelerating and improving blood circulation in the areas where it is applied. In addition, the state of the treated area is also improved. Diseases that use these methods are scleroderma (the skin loses its elasticity and becomes stiff-rigid), acrocyanosis as well as alopecia (baldness). Cryotherapy or, more generally, cold treatment is preferred in acute inflammatory processes in the skin as well as pain reduction. Cold compresses, liquid nitrogen in special applicators, and carbon dioxide are used. The effect depends mostly on the duration of skin contact. In recent years, cryosurgery has also been increasing, which displaces some of the conventional surgical interventions. Cryotherapy is used to treat some warts, vascular defects - hemangiomas, claws (masseuses), and some skin carcinomas. The curative gymnastics also finds its place because some of the severe chronic dermatoses attach to bed in the final stages of the disease. Such are the diseases of scleroderma, as well as dermatomyositis, which is autoimmune diseases. The electrotherapy in dermatology applies both types of current - constant and variable. Permanent current is used when our goal is to increase the penetrability of the skin over a drug substance. The method used is called iontophoresis and various drug solutions are introduced through it. Varying currents include those that have analgesic (analgesic) effect. Such is, for example, applied to the affected shingles in which the pain symptom remains in time and is unaffected by the medication analgesics. This type of therapy is also applied to infiltrative skin changes - warts, and some tumor formations. Ultrasound therapy is also being used, and its function is to facilitate the introduction of some drugs similar to iontophoresis. Phototherapy is a method that uses the influence of light to treat some skin diseases. For example, the B-ray of the ultraviolet spectrum has the function of stimulating the formation of vitamin D in the skin. Infrared rays, on application to the skin surface, have an analgesic and antispasmodic effect. These two properties are important in the treatment of some dermatoses. A good effect has been the application of laser therapy to remove pigments and scars. They are used in vascular lesions - hemangiomas, as well as leukemia, hyperpigmented nevi, and others. The properties of laser therapy are also used to treat local skin pelts and relatively superficial skin ulcers, stimulating their healing. Find us at GoldBook and Google.
